Policy 7-402A

REMOVAL OFA STUDENT FROM SCHOOL BY THE POLICE

The police under the following circumstances may remove a student from the school or
its premises without consent:

1. when a warrant is presented for the removal of the student;
2. when an order for removal signed by a judge is presented to the school administration;
3. when a police officer has witnessed the student’s commission of a crime or has probable cause to believe that the student has committed a crime;
4. when a staff member has witnessed the student’s commission of a crime and has reported such observation to the police.

The school administration will immediately attempt to notify the parent(s) or guardian(s)
of the removal of a student from school by the police.
